Update on N7927 progress - Weekend 11 April 2026 Richard and Alex are at it again up in Fort Pierce! Respect for their continued energy and capacity. It is frustrating for me to be stuck on this side of the Atlantic in Cape Town asking for pictures!
Inverter Fixed - Coventry airport closure causes another problem!

Right now, curveballs seem to hang around just waiting to be thrown!
Whilst positive progress continues, frustration dogs us in the final preparations ....
I leave you with a video of the rudder which was overhauled and installed a little while ago.
Note the big control surface clamps that Richard made in a hurry under the real threat of a hurricane.

Alex has used his superpowers to fix our inverter which halted engine run ups in the last episode!
Next visit will see them continue with engine run ups and IOC testing.
Taxi tests and gear swings are some of the final items to be ticked off - hopefully also on the next visit.
Our new battery has arrived and is waiting to power her up on the flight after having used a ground power cart for all work up until now.
Unfortunately, the imminent closure of Coventry Airport in the UK has meant that both Alex and Richard have had to fly there at short notice to assist in getting a venerable DC3 flown out of the airport before it officially closes for flights at the end of May.
I wish them luck as they prepare the DC3 for her flight which will hopefully take place this weekend and then they can get back down to Florida to continue with our bird!
This is DC3 that has set our own program back a few weeks !
